Knife Skills Worth Practicing First
By Darnell Cross · April 28, 2026

You do not need twenty cuts. Four of them cover most of what you will ever do -- and they are worth ten quiet minutes.
We keep the writing plain on purpose. A recipe should read like a good cook talking you through it, not a wall of qualifiers. That means telling you what to look for -- the color, the smell, the sound of the pan -- instead of leaning only on times and temperatures that vary kitchen to kitchen.
If you try this and it works, tell us. If it does not, tell us that too. The whole library gets better when cooks push back, and that feedback loop is the most useful tool we have. You can always reach the team at info@lightningjarvt.com.
